Certainly needs a bit of care and restoration, but for $4,400 for a '57 Chevy wagon, I would have to seriously consider it. At some point, I will get an old car to restore, and a Nomad would be high on the list. I love the red ones, but I'd have to go for this paint color.
Here's the posting proper. Looks like a legit survivor for the most part.

Well, what I think about right now is raising my daughter properly, keeping our bills paid, getting our house paid off, getting my daughter through college when she's that age, keeping food on the table, and being able to get a good career, get my health better, and retire with some money left over. Within 10 years, I will be far more financially stable, and able to realistically look into something like this.

Though this would be a GOOD investment.

What if she wants to buy a horrible car?

Her pappy, and myself, will advise against it, but let her buy if she wishes, and let her learn the hard way the trouble of dealing with a bad car.

Four Door 57's, both wagon and sedan variants, are about the only way to get into a 57 project without paying with an arm, a leg, and your first born child. The prices on the other variants are so jacked up because everyone wants them. Nobody wanted a four door, so they've been mostly forgotten. I have a feeling though eventually the price bug will start to hit even the four doors because builders have to go that route. It's possible to convert them to two-door but they just don't look right when you do IMO.

NP, not a nomad though (4 door vs 2). I have a parts car though in yellow/white for all the missing bits!

Yeah, I have seen that myself. My uncle used to have a '57 convertible, but sold it long before I was born, he kicks himself now. He now drives a 2006 Equinox and a 2010 Forester. Not bad cars, but much more restrained than before.
Personally, I wouldn't mind a 4-door variant. They're still sharp looking cars in their own right. If I wanted a remotely affordable two-door, it'd have to be the post, and not the pillarless hardtop, though the hardtop looks far better.

Yeah, I know it's not a Nomad, too many doors, but a Nomad is what I would ultimately prefer to the four-door wagon, but I would take either. Yellow and white is a good color combo for those cars though!

Oh I would build a four door too.
But my dream project is a 57 gasser, and when/if I build that it's only going to be a 150/210 post or a Nomad. Four doors is just too much car for the way I want to build it. I want the car to be the lower trims for different reasons, mainly because I would get rid of all the fancy parts anyhow (think Mike Finnegan's Blasphemi or Two Lane Blacktop) and because the Bel Air name just means more money, even if it isn't a true Bel Air, something these cars see too much of restored. I'd build the Nomad because they're awesome, even if they are Bel-airs.

Oh good lord. That's the original paint color on my mom's '65 Bonneville convertible. Looks like you run your own parts yard there, haha. That wagon looks rough for sure, but certainly salvageable.
